Getting you behind the wheel safely...

Adaptive Equipment

There is a variety of adaptive equipment available and knowing which one is right for you can be a challenge.

If you need adaptive equipment in order to drive safely due to a medical illness or injury, you are required to adhere to the PA DOT licensure requirements.

  • Individuals must be evaluated and trained with the adaptive equipment and take their state driving examination to have the appropriate endorsements added to their license. During your evaluation, we will present the equipment that is available and you will have the opportunity to try it to determine what works best.
  • Once you have your updated license, we will write the prescription for you to have the equipment installed in your vehicle.
  • When the vehicle has been modified, we will do a final check out to ensure that you are happy with the installation and take you for a drive in your vehicle to determine if any adjustments are needed.
